New practice note on 2007 Lugano Convention: family law considerations

We have published Practice note, 2007 Lugano Convention: family law considerations, which discusses the key legal implications of the 2007 Lugano Convention for private family lawyers in England and Wales. The note explains the jurisdictional criteria, the meaning of “domicile” according to the Convention, and considers lis pendens, related actions and recognition and enforcement of orders. The note also discusses choice of court agreements and progress of the UK’s application to accede to the 2007 Lugano Convention.
